About

I received my Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts in 2016. In the Fall of 2017, I began as an Assistant Professor of Computational Social Science at the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ. Previously, I was a Fellow in Computational Social Science in the Digital and Computation Studies program at Bowdoin College. My research focuses on applying computational methods to the study of American politics. The areas I focus on include U.S. Congress, parties and interest groups, elections, business and politics, social media, and big data. I utilize computational methods including network and text analysis, machine learning, agent-based modeling, and computational game theory.

Prior to graduate school, I spent three years working in the Massachusetts House of Representatives for the Vice-Chair of the Environment, Natural Resources, and Agriculture Committee, representing the Second Berkshire District. When I am not studying data and politics, you can find me cruising Casco Bay on my boat, skiing, or hiking in the Berkshires.
